Carolina is passionate about mobile first design, dynamic personalization, and is a strong advocate for digital accessibility. She works to drive operational efficiencies to scale production. Her most notable work at Citi is the development of a flexible stackable module system that is ADA compatible, pre-coded and pre-tested for creation and development of email.

She holds a Bachelor of Administration in Marketing Management from Baruch College, an MBA from St. Joseph’s College and she obtained a Digital Media Certificate from New York University. Currently, Carolina resides on Long Island with her husband, daughter and senior citizen Yorkie.

Before joining BrightWave, Rich ventured out on his own to start Big Scary Cranium, an award-winning behavioral marketing and marketing automation agency.


Melanie Ruic

Melanie Ruic is the Director of Email Marketing at Penguin Random House. Her key responsibilities are to drive strategy for all corporate consumer-facing email programs to maximize customer engagement and revenue growth.


She began her career in advertising working on brands such as American Express, Fisher Price, Citymeals on Wheels, Eli Lilly, Beiersdorf (Nivea and Eucerin Brands) and Edward Jones.


Melanie then transitioned over to the client side managing CRM programs at BMW Corporate and also spent 5 years leading the email and mobile strategy for Avis and Budget Car rental brands. She brings a unique mix of creativity, passion and data driven insights to any role she takes on.

Raj brings over 18 years of entrepreneurial agency experience to the BrightWave team. He co-founded Spunlogic in 1998 which later merged with Moxie, creating the largest digital agency in the Southeast. Prior to joining the Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena, Nida worked at the Houston Texans’ Analytics department where she was responsible for CRM initiatives, marketing automation tools, and assisting with data integrations. Rob Goates

Like many people, Rob didn’t discover his love for email marketing until his budget-constrained company told him he would need to do it to keep his job. Enjoying the idea of employment, he learned the ropes and has since spent his time as an email marketer in a variety of capacities— from training small businesses to leading B2C campaign strategy and deployment for companies such as United Airlines, MLB, and Uber.
